A few years ago, I was asked to write music for plays based on stories from various Indigenous American tribes. The theme of transformation through in many of them. In one, the Great Spirit creates everything from a dream- nothingness into somethingness. In another, the Great Spirit sets a crow of rainbow colors on fire to give warmth to the world (in return promising the crow that he will never be hunted).

I like music that doesn't end where it started. I want to feel elevated after hearing music- not back in the same place I was before hearing the music. Music can be a transformational experience and I hope this will be for you too...
